Effective 23 August 2026 · Applies to the OhmWorks mobile app and web app
OhmWorks has two versions with two different privacy profiles — the mobile app is entirely private and offline; the web app may show advertising to cover hosting costs. This page explains both plainly.
The OhmWorks mobile app does not require an account, sign-in, or registration of any kind. It does not collect your name, email, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information. It makes no network requests during normal use — every calculation runs entirely on your device using data bundled inside the app. There are no analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or third-party trackers in the mobile app.
The web version of OhmWorks (hosted at this domain) may display advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense, to help cover the cost of hosting a free tool. If ads are shown:
The calculators themselves work identically with or without ads present, and calculation inputs you type into the web app are processed the same way as the mobile app — locally, in your browser — not sent to us.
OhmWorks is a professional engineering reference tool and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children on either the mobile or web version.
OhmWorks is provided as a reference and productivity aid for electricians and electrical engineers. Some reference tables are drawn directly from the cited code editions; others are clearly labeled placeholder or estimated values pending verification. Always confirm results against the current official edition of the applicable electrical code and exercise independent professional judgment before relying on any calculation for a real installation.
If this policy changes — for example, if we add a new feature that changes what data is processed — the update will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
