Answers to the questions we hear most about OhmWorks.
Yes. There's no account, no subscription, and no paywalled calculator. The mobile app is entirely offline and free; the web version is also free to use.
Use OhmWorks as a fast reference and cross-check, not as your sole source of truth. Every data table is cited to its source standard, edition, and table number directly in the app so you can verify it yourself. Some figures — clearly labeled in-app — are placeholder or estimated values pending verification against a newer or more complete source document. Always confirm results against the current official edition of the applicable code before relying on them for a real installation, and apply your own professional judgment.
Three, each as its own tab in the app: the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), Australian/New Zealand Standards (AS/NZS 3008.1.1, 3000, and 5033), and the US National Electrical Code (NEC). See the Guide for how each calculator works.
No. Every calculation on the mobile app runs entirely on your device, using data bundled inside the app. It works fully offline — useful on a job site with no signal.
The mobile app collects nothing — no account, no analytics, no location, no personal data of any kind. The web version may show advertising to support hosting costs, which can involve cookies used for ad personalization by our ad provider. See the full Privacy Policy for the complete picture.
This is documented per data table inside the app, since different calculators within the same code tab can draw from different source documents. Where an edition is uncertain or a newer edition wasn't available at extraction time, the app flags this explicitly rather than assuming.
Please do — this genuinely helps. See the Contact page for how to reach us, and include the calculator, the specific inputs you used, and what you expected versus what you got.
That's the plan — OhmWorks is actively maintained, and placeholder data tables are being replaced with fully verified figures over time. Check back, or reach out via Contact if there's a specific calculator or code you'd find useful.
